Our most heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the victims of the Aurora shootings. The deranged gunman who’s name we will not even mention here should himself be shot!
That being said, I wish the media would stop blaming guns every time their is a shooting in this country. When a person gets behind the wheel of a car and plows into a crowd we don’t hear calls for tougher laws on buying or renting a car! I mean, what’s the difference? It is much easier to obtain a car than a gun. There is no waiting period. Plenty of people drive a car without a valid drivers license. There are plenty more cars in this country than there are guns and the number of people hurt or killed in car accidents far outnumber gun accidents.
Since these things are abstract objects and by themselves do no harm until they are used by idiots, why don’t we have a national outcry to put an end to all idiots! Problem with that though is that any law toward that cause would also end many political careers!
The tragedy that happened in Aurora was just that – a tragedy. Let’s keep the thoughts and prayers going to all those victims and their families. It’s always a shame when something like this happens but let’s not start the blame game because it seems to be politically correct.
